Eternity (Audio CD)

Customer Review

At KAMELOT divorced again the spirits. On the one hand, it continues to be fans of the first period of the band pass (first two discs) and other fans of the second phase (ie everything up to now). The difference between these two band stages lies in the almost complete replacement of the musicians after the second CD (ok, only just drummers and singers, but after that the rest) until belt motor and guitarist Thomas Youngblood and the accompanying musical changes.
KAMELOT played on their first two releases "Eternity" and subsequently published "Dominion" highly melodic US Metal, which could best be compared with a slightly more powerful version of CRIMSON GLORY. And that was no accident, but had a lot to do with the former singer Mark Vanderbilt over, the Midnight of aforementioned CRIMSON GLORY in no way inferior. This is in my opinion also the major shortcoming of today KAMELOT, just the vocals. Nothing against the song or the vocal range of a Roy Khan (CONCEPTION), certainly a good singer, but against this power and the evidence adduced soulful emotions of old singer Mr.Khan could never keep up. Meanwhile, this singer is at KAMELOT but already history.
I count myself personally to the fans of the first creative phase of KAMELOT. You hear only classics like the fast "Red Sands", the soulful "What About Me", or the absolute About anthem in the form of the title track "Eternity" to (to crazy chorus).
The now current success of the band (especially in Europe) gives them respect. The musical change (towards Euro-Metal with exaggerated bombast, female vocals accompaniment etc.) certainly right, but as I do with American Metal can start more, I swear to continue to provide these first two discs. Nevertheless, I do not begrudge the band but their success. In addition, you can compare Heavy Metal with women: a matter of taste !!!
