I opted for this clear mat, since the recessions in the murky / milky mats have warned me. I am very happy with the choice. On the carpets which acts decently - not disturbing.

The knobs are not inclined to the cutting edge I've also read somewhere.

Slides does the mat also. Below are little nubs that prevent and above the mat is easily and discreetly marked not smooth, but not annoying flashy.

Conclusion:
Super product, would buy it again at any time. If you jerk around with an office chair or the like, and risk damaging the carpet, I can only guess at a quick purchase.
