Operation + smart features:

The integrated Wi-Fi works well with me. Registration with WPS worked perfectly after I enabled the WPS until the player, and only then at the Fritz box.
See the menu well and react liquid, the device is fast enough for the usual apps. The Smart TV platform complies with the Sony TVs by 2012.
In Appmenü can be found in Germany, the Apps of streaming providers Amazon, max cathedrals, and Netflix Watch Ever and a handful of less interesting Apps. In addition, this integrated Opera store numerous apps to find. The menu item "Sony Entertainment Network" integrates all the apps and purchase offers for film and music from Sony. Additionally, there is a built-in Flash-enabled browser, but only with the mobile app "Sony TV Side View" confortable to use. Caution - in Austria is the app from Amazon Instant Video, according to user reports are not yet available.
The remote control is half as long as a standard TV remote control. The Arrow Cross is unfortunately not realized as a rocker but with individual keys. That's a bit annoying, can get over considering the price. The remote control has its own eject button (very good!). With the remote control a Sony TV can help steer the player. However, the integration is not held (eg not in the settings menu) at all points. But for watching Blue Rays and DVDs as well as navigating the Apps it is enough.
When Media Player, the number of supported formats is better in part in the competition.

Design

The Blue Ray player has got pretty small and fairly easy. The surface is flat, the pyramid shape is a clever optical illusion through the material. The design is thus not as ugly as feared. The player has no display, this economy measure comes at the price but ok. The device has an external power supply such as notebooks.
Conclusion and competition comparison:

I was looking for a quiet player. Bottom line, the S5200 is after a few failed attempts with other models so far the best compromise. The cheaper sister model without Wi-Fi was with me with Blue Rays significantly louder. I had tried the LG BP740 and additionally the Philips BDP5700. Only the Phillips is with Blue Rays just a tad bit quieter than Sony, this is by the operator and the Smart TV functionality is not so good.
