To control my fat reduction also based on measured values, I bought the Omron BF511. Since the balance is classified as a medical device, I promised myself relatively accurate values. After the easy setup showed me the balance to the percentage fat value, the value of visceral fat and muscle mass. Unfortunately, I realized after a few days that the values are not repeated despite the same conditions. One day I had 12.6% fat and 43.2% muscle mass (this corresponds to the comparative measurement in the gym), the next day, only 8.8% and 44.5% muscle mass. Both measurements were conducted under the same conditions created (morning after getting up, sober, dry hands and feet). Two days later I had 11.0% fat and again a few days later I had 13.4% fat. I then wrote to the support, whether it could be a fault of the device or possibly an application error. Only wrote the support, it could be an application error, there would be "many opportunities, it would not necessarily be a defect", when I nachhakte and asked for advice, exclude this, they told me that the values are within tolerance and only a much more expensive professional equipment would provide better results. With such differences, the balance is not even enough in my opinion for home use. To me it is not a question of measuring an absolute value that can be validated with professional equipment, but to measure a comparable value, which indicates a tendency for several days / weeks / months. This may include the Omron BF511 in my case not to use it only as a scale it is much too expensive. Unfortunately, I have already disposed of the packaging, so they must remain unfortunately.
