Coldplay publish with "Live 2003" their first live DVD. The band has indeed with "Parachutes" (2000) and "A Rush of Blood to the Head" (2002) published only two studio albums, but what give us the cold players here with their first DVD, is simply madness. But the scope can inspire: The DVD includes a concert with 17 songs of the band, including 8 songs from "A Rush of Blood to the Head" and 5 songs from "Parachutes". The song "One I Love" comes from a B-side, "See You Soon" from an early EP the band and "Life Is For Living" is the rejection of "Everything's Not Lost" on the "Parachutes". There is with "Moses" a new song. Apart from the actual concert, which represents the core of the box, there are on the disc still plenty of extras, such as the lyrics to the 17 songs that were still missing the album booklets, or a 40-minute, professional and excellent homemade Tour documentation which is just interesting and informative. Another Silberling contains 12 songs from the band that were removed from the live concert in Sydney so that you can enjoy "Live 2003" also in the Discman. There is also a lot of pictures of the band members; at all it can be seen very positive that not only a singer, pianist and guitarist Chris Martin is in the foreground. Instead, the band acts like a unit that served the audience a fantastic song after another. The concert itself is technically very well done, the camera is not Stuhr directed to the band, but manages to capture even emotions of the audience. Here, the whole concert is very rapidly chopped and sprayed almost the feel of a video clip. Wonderful also that the camera switches to black and white mode with some songs, which can be an even more intense experience the songs. Coldplay create it with "Live 2003" to deliver a fantastic DVD-CD box containing more than can only convince in terms of quantity, as well as the quality. Especially recommended is the DVD for people who do not yet own the two albums "Parachutes" and "A Rush of Blood to the Head". With this box Coldplay have a monument!
