Content: Due to the undertaken by Lilith ritual are connected magically Jonathan (Sebastian) and Jace. If the one injured, bleeding and the other, and what Sebastian wants, aspires also Jace. After two weeks of absence Jace suddenly appeared again at Clary, and this needs to realize with horror that her boyfriend is still only a beautiful shell objectionable material. How much of the old, by her Jace is still left in this boy who is suddenly Sebastian's henchmen? And how do you separate the two, if the death of Sebastian would mean Jace's death? But Clary would not Clary when she falls head would not embark on a daring mission upside down in order to save her friends ...
So far the story sounds so exciting, but on closer inspection you will quickly find what he is suffering: Since Jace most of the story spends as a kind of "Robot", the romance between him and Clary suffers very natural. I find this cover therefore inappropriate, because there is not indeed a few kissing scenes between the two, but I could not really get involved in a love story. The previous volumes all over again gives me palpitations, but here ... nothing. By the way I have also known as "hot" imaginary scenes among the other couples (and in this book there are many!) Fairly cold left because Cassandra Clare unfortunately repeatedly used the same vocabulary here: heart banging against chests, fingers digging into hair that rune scars be palpated and found beautiful. At some point one has it yet enough.
Since we are talking about the other couples: I have often admired, as Cassandra Clare manages to readers to provide insight into the different people. Be held, at least in the first three volumes that but still within certain limits: It has what is happening mostly experienced through the eyes Clarys, Simon and Jace '; but there are just too many people, between which is reciprocated jumped: Clary, Simon, Isabelle, Magnus, Alec, Jordan and Maia (both actually quite superfluous to the plot), even Jocelyn and Maryse. The sections were often very short, you had just used to a vision and was already torn again. That the book has become so long, probably is also largely because Cassandra Clare wanted to give each of these people has its own story. Do not misunderstand: Most of the characters I like very much, but overall it has been lacking but the novel to focus. The plot splashed so there and was there while quite entertaining, but they could retell in a few sentences. In the last part of the series, I expect really much more action!
