It has to me said first took some time which was the gameplay would be based on an existing series, namely Dynasty Warriors. Hack'n'Slay wrapped in One Piece? That I thought was a good idea. Finally, sometimes turning entire episodes about how the Straw Hats to fight through enemy hordes before they face a one on one match. But I now count on only the pros and cons of the game.
Graphics:
+ The cell-shading graphics saw me deeply convinced she looks very nice in the game and never in my life have I One Piece animated sequences so beautifully wi a this game. A very big plus!
Combat system:
+ For Luffy and co are a variety of known attacks made available are great staged especially the special moves. Grade this could be referred to in the previous console offshoot Unlimited Cruise only as a scarce resource, as the SP bar to 2 large attacks was gone. Here, however, the strip loads quickly on by the beat of enemies, offering plenty of opportunities these moves apply.
- In the long run even the best One Piece game is a bit boring if you level after level by opponents hordes boxes his way. While it is always a certain amount of fun but if you 30 opponents with a single Gum-Gum-Rifle wegboxt a bit monotonous it is already.
Different modes:
+ Story, Challenge, addition or Log Online / Multi. There are 4 modes to choose between. All insist more or less on the same principle as the campaign and yet have each a own twist.
- I'm missing a 2 Player VS. Mode. The game has really transferred to 1 on 1 lot of potential in the combat system and this would certainly be mad fun if you had the then still be adjusted a little. For me VS modes are easy to anime Beat'em'Ups to be it Naruto, Dragonball, etc. That's the only thing that's missing in Germany at a right OP game, a useful 1 on 1 vs. mode.
- How many times emphasized to larger parts of the story or simply omitted abgefrühstückt in passages to jump to the fighting. Is in itself a problem as a complete film in the game One Piece story would just probably blow up different context in this lavish production, but Skypia or Thriller Bark have then but already missed you.
Skill system:
+ By coins you can expand and improve different values such as attack, endurance, defense etc.. Combining 3 coins correctly together a special bonus of the values is again increasing (eg Luffy Nami + + Zorro = Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy + Buggy + = Blackbeard Pirate captains, etc.)
Conclusion: One Piece Pirate Warriors is a nice start for the series on HD consoles and hopefully not my last game. It convinces in appearance, game system and a certain variety but gets lost in between but a little too much in monotony.
Nevertheless, strong buy recommendation, not necessarily only for fans of the series.
