just for fans

"Amigos para siempre" is not my first CD of the Ten Tenors (and certainly not the last), but unfortunately the most disappointing. The idea CD and DVD in one to bring to the market I find good, but I find the implementation not so successful.

When I heard the CD for the first time it has me a bit confused that no applause was heard, where she is taken with orchestra and I assumed that it is a live recording, but then thought that it probably still the studio had ... The CD is also really succeeded. The items are well chosen and (as always) vocally beautifully presented and great orchestrated. For this 5 star! (For "The Boxer" I would give smooth two extra stars ...)

Unfortunately, the DVD is rather in the category "a disappointment". The idea they like to keep in sepia be interesting at the beginning, will in the long run but unfortunately a bit annoying. Anyone who has experienced the Ten Tenors ever live, it is hardly recognizable. Sure helps also non-existent audience, which is a also regularly paraded through camera settings from the rear, so between the orchestra and the Ten Tenors. Personally, I had never seen such a "taciturn" live experience. Life Some of the titles (which has so far never been so aware) also from the live performance, but almost entirely missing here. There is more of a studio atmosphere. Again, the items are well presented, but it just simply missing something. For this, unfortunately only 2 stars.

My conclusion: Who is (still) not a fan, should rather stay away from this CD and prefer to use one of the previous recordings. And who has never seen live and times will get a taste, definitely should resort to "Here's to the Heroes" or one of the previous DVDs. "Amigos para siempre" is really only something for fans.
