Also I was known. Nevertheless, I still could not bring himself to me zuzulegen a Behemoth album to me a few days ago. The reason is simple: I am always the band sounded too clinical. Too perfect. To machine. Insufficient human. And the posing: well ...
A few weeks ago, I then a few interviews with Nergal (the nörgel is pronounced, the time you have to give ;-)) read, and was more than pleasantly surprised when it comes to his view of the world. I have to say that what he sees as "Satanism" is much closer to the humanism, as the doctrine of (example) Catholic Church. Even otherwise, the man makes an intelligent and reflected impression something that his "enemies" in Poland and elsewhere can learn a lot. If a so-called "Christian" a terminally ill (as then Nergal) wishes eternal damnation, because he does not share his faith, then I wonder why he is not on the meter-thick irony (= Christian charity etc.) is stifled. Jaja, religion makes you stupid ...
But back to the music. In these same interviews, the singer also mentioned that the new album should be organic, personal and varied. Now he had my attention. Lo and behold, "The Satanist" is a crown jewel of black music art. Down to the smallest sophisticated, full of artful details, good sounding !!!, varied, interesting, complex, yet catchy. True art just. Behemoth have already longer distinguished themselves with the fact that is well thought out with this band EVERYTHING. Music, the artwork (which makes me a little reminiscent of the Polish artist Beksinski), the videos. A work of art just. And now the music also has this human factor that has brought the spark that has moved me to buy this album. OK then!
"The Satanist" will probably go down as a classic in the Metal-history. Because this album has exactly the kind of character, of independence, of detachment, the only know the big wheels.
Even Behemoth have created with this monument a new genre. Do not play more Death or Black Metal, they play solely in their own league Behemoth music. Great!
