I recently bought a Babycook Duo for purees and sauces of my baby, and it's really a super robot! I first had a Bébédélice, received a gift of birth: I started using it to six months of my daughter, and at first it was going very well, as she ate small amounts. But gradually, not only I was very disappointed with the poor quality because it is quickly damaged; and another major problem: the low capacity of the cooking basket, which allowed to cook mashed potatoes and a half, or 2 large maximum packing well. Added to this was the low heating power that forced to make two cooking cycles for each basket: knowing that now, at 9 months, my daughter eats 6 purées and compotes day, I had hours to make purees the day! I ended up falling for this Babycook duo, I was lucky to find used / like new (since it must be admitted that the new price is exorbitant), and really, I'm thrilled! The quality is great, nothing to do with the appearance dinette / Bébédélice of junk. The heating resistor is not apparent, water is poured into an internal reservoir, in contrast to Bébédélice where water is poured directly onto the hotplate (it rust As, food there fall and give a good smell of burnt ...) there, not this kind of problem, we really going to a higher level of quality! The two tanks are used for cooking stewed simultaneously on one side and puree the other, or two different purees; the heating power can bake in a single cycle (20 minutes), unless it is a little hard vegetables like carrots, which require a second cycle. Some steam escapes, but relatively few as water mainly condenses on the walls of the bowls. Cooking water is directly collected in the mixing bowl, and then one chooses to keep totally or partially depending on the desired texture. The mix is quite good, although, I must admit, less good by cons, as the Bébédélice that on this criterion only, prevails: There might be small pieces that stick to the walls; you have to open, drag the pieces with a spoon, and start mixing. But, you do it!
And when my daughter purees are over, I can cook me a small bowl of steamed vegetables for my own food in a whole bowl = 1 part per adult. I rediscovered the pleasure of eating steamed vegetables, that really tastes better when cooked and the pressure cooker! The cleaning is very easy: the small propeller chopper, under which always mix the puree, withdraws and reclipse with very easy for us to thoroughly clean. Then, the hand wash is easy because there is no "corner" or better yet, the dishwasher! I have long sought the ideal baby robot, and I had first rejected the duo babycook, firstly because of its price, which, we must recognize it, has something discouraged, and secondly because I was put in mind that a device such large capacity was made for moms who have twins. But in fact, this is exactly what I needed, and if you want to get even purées and compotes your babies, I recommend putting it on your list of birth, you will not regret you the be made offer! Of course, it does not run at full speed for the first meal of your baby, but ... they grow up so fast!
