The scanner is in the list of supported devices of sane, but only in the latest version (not with Ubuntu 14:04 this - hard to install). When scanning the negative a very strong noise even after trying out various settings remain (several hours options to try for the best results). Have tasted no other scanner, my back went. (Scan on Linux Negative) Unfortunately for the planned use unusable. One document what I saw but from scanned super.
