Compared to the previous model Rollei DF-S 290 HD, which I had previously ordered and quickly sent back because hardware and software so hooked that I just 4 shots brought in about 5 hours into existence. The unit was so unreasonable. When returning I asked whether the new device hopefully not come from the same forging - and promptly it seems so: The same type of packaging, the monitor side held up, but the same software (Medi Impression 2) and same accessories. I feared another fiasco. But I was pleasantly disappointed: Every shot a hit. But it remains a major shortcoming, which has also already mentioned, another critic: why such a large sensor - and then such a strong compression for (only) .jpg files? That is the only, but not insignificant criticism. It would be nice also, you could run the scanner directly via Softwar and trigger, as was the case with the Rollei DF-S 50 SE. Only worked despite reinstalling the whole system under Windows 7 no longer, from another on the day. So, dear Software Company: New firmware possibly software that one leaves the choice of compression, best also BMP or TIF files allows. Between quite useful for quick Diascan: Otherwise.
