Installation
Ran smoothly for me. The printer is connected via LAN to the network. However, to install HP not only a driver, but an entire 'Solution Center', which claims a little time.
Printing
The setting options are varied, interesting for business people is the ability to send mail to a particular address so that the attached document is finished printing, when you come home.
For color printing, I can say little, Images pressure I have not tried yet.
A drawback, however, there: Choose the economical high-speed printing with 300 dpi rather than the default 600 dpi - actually perfectly adequate for readable documents - not operating the printer clean. Upper and lower halves of the line shift within a line from one another and chart lines to curves. For this, I subtract a star. So a basic function must hammer out a clean printer, especially in view of the experience that HP has in the field!
Scanning
Relatively fixed and tolerable volume. My old Officejet made as more wheel. The results I find very acceptable, but I have been scanned VA documents. Conversion to PDF is going well, the duplex operation of the automatic feeder (ADF) I find awesome. Here was criticized that by sharpening the software will not let himself off - ie in the version that I use, is the strange, however, that there suddenly two buttons are labeled in Dutch.. - Well, we are Europeans.
Copying
Sometimes you have to readjust something because the copies are quite bright, but it works.
Fax
Works on smoothly, but so far only shipping, receiving, I could not test. However, the software quirks: I wanted to save a number, but got an error message.
The printer can do even more, but for me is such. As printing directly from the network is not interesting, so I have not tried it. A larger screen would certainly be nice, but not necessary. It is true that the unit needs a relatively long time to boot up, but most often comes the need of printing also not entirely surprising.
Unfortunately, the possibilities for adjusting the ink consumption are well hidden. Luckily, you can save the settings as a separate pressure profile, however, the consumption seems nevertheless quite high, soon a new black cartridge is due - maybe I've also printed a good deal, because on the whole, I am quite fond of the device. Just another thing to look: Yes, it looks like the little brother of Darth Vader and the surface attracts dirt and finger marks, but with a duster, it is also not so bad.
For users who, like me, a device looking modestly for Home-office functions, there is - with a few limitations described - a recommendation from my side.
