After reading countless reviews and trials of the Humax iCord and the Panasonic XS-350 I venture the judgment that Kathrein currently provides the best overall among HD twin receivers with hard drive.

With the remote control Humax sometimes did not work properly (bouncing keys), you can further view current recordings NOT and menu navigation is also not so perfect - the Humax support is already known as a rather poor.

The Panasonic would have liked as All-In-One very well with built-in DVD burner, were it not for the crippling slow menus and too long switching times - requests for firmware update answered not even Panasonic. at about 500 euros I expect more easily.

So now for some weeks I own next to the Kathrein UFS 922 and the 923rd
The current firmware I had to play myself, it went smoothly via a USB stick.
Then everything happened very quickly: Make basic settings, station search, sort stations, make test shots - everything simple and logical.

The normal mode works flawlessly so far, each recording was carried out perfectly.

Compared with the 922 seems to me the 923 before a little faster.
The menu display is something objective, but neither better nor worse.

The network features (ftp, YouTube, ...) I do not use and this can therefore not judge.

A positive feature is:
+ Almost self-explanatory, easy and quick commissioning
+ Switching times faster than expected
+ High quality stylish design
+ 0.5 Watt Standby consumption (measured by yourself)
+ Outstanding EPG (tvtv)
+ Very good image quality in HD and SD
+ Fast settling Made Easy
+ Picture-in-Picture (PIP)

Negative falls on:
- Cut function still too imprecise
- Backup battery for internal clock (instead HighCap)
- Info displays are also output to the VCR SCART

From my visit to Kathrein UFS-923 just like for the UFS 922 a clear buy recommendation!
