Have this scanner and its big brother, the Lide50 now for some time in use. The scan quality is quite satisfactory, the power consumption is minimal and the software equipment does not need to hide. But beware: The Lide 30 is prior to have a USB2 port (also available on the box), but he did not. If you reread precisely, so that only the compatibility to a USB2 interface is intended on a PC, but that did indeed any other USB scanner also. The full rate of 480Mbits remains a distant prospect. So I would again refer to the Lide 50, which has a full USB2 interface and works much faster just at higher resolutions. For home users who want to scan something only from and to time the LIDE30 is warmly recommended, the scan quality is still unbeatable for this price.
