Scope of supply:
Supplied the camera with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a lithium-ion battery, the right software and a carrying strap. The wrist strap should probably underline the robustness of the camera in its processing, since the material is very thick and therefore unfortunately quite inflexible. In addition, it is much too large to ensure a secure hold.
The first impression:
That the housing is designed for the promised features, it quickly becomes apparent when you hold the camera in his hands. It lies well in the hand and is just under 230 grams no lightweight. The slot for the battery, memory card, and the connections are well protected and is double locked. All control elements are firmly attached and make a solid impression. The rotary knob for program selection is a bit small and flat, so that it is best served him from the right side. The lens is on the inside, but unfortunately the optics outboard is unprotected. The lens does not cover and so you should be convinced each time you use it, that it is free from dirt or fingerprints. That she does not sit in the middle, but above it I had to get used only once. The display is not very mobile. It can be folded up, only at different angles, which is not very bother me.
The menu is self-explanatory and easy to operate, the appearance offers reasonable parameters, but could be a bit brighter for just slightly darker underwater scenes. (5 x optical zoom, 3,5-5,7mm / 21-105 mm lens)

Image quality:
The pictures are good when using the normal automatic, but could not completely convince me, because this is lacking a bit of luminosity and brilliance. The underwater scenes are (in bright light) fine and I was very happy with it. Since I anyway do not dive at greater depths, which is sufficient for my needs.
In low light conditions the camera device soon reach their limits and the image noise is clearly visible.
In Scene mode specific color requirements are inter alia believed that then supports the camera. So is eg at sunset the reddish light will support what is otherwise possibly very filtered out in automatic mode. When shooting at night or dusk is however too much set to the color blue. So a white house wall in this mode has been suddenly shown very dark and bluish. For macro shots turn the TG-850 was able to convince again and really offers a good quality.
My conclusion: I have decided after testing, not to take the camera along on the trip, as they with their picture quality could not completely convince me, and I have another small camera that has better brightness and sharpness to offer. Overall, however TG-850 in this price range a reasonable and robust camera, which is sufficient for the leisure Photography and opportunities, which does not have any camera. For underwater photography at moderate to bright light, snapshots in damp weather and wherever you want to go easy on his good camera, you can recommend the TG-850.
