1. Why did I just ordered me this sound card?
That had with me several direct and partly decisive reasons.
- Rotary knob to adjust the volume (very important to me)
- Built-in microphone
- According to the manufacturer a lot of performance for headphones
- External USB sound card
In combination of these points, in addition to the excessively (exaggerated) Amazon good reviews, I decided on the Omni.
2. Performance of the Omni to headphones and plant
Unfortunately, the misery already starts here. While the Omni is advertised as very strong sound card and boasts of impedances to 600 Ohmen, it creates just what a portable headphone amplifier for 30 Euro creates (FiiO 6).
I own the Pioneer HDJ-1500 K, which only has an impedance of 32 Ohmen, but even at this low impedance, it creates the Omni just now as to fuel the Pioneer tidy. A great pity! (About 32 Ohmen no recommendation!)
My standard 2.1 Pc system (active) does not have much to do with the Omni even so, however, everything runs without problems.
3. Sound quality headphones, plant and micro
Here comes a point at which the Omni not bad cuts.
I could find neither on headphones, nor plant, static or other noise.
All very clear and detailed, but you should also be able to expect for the price.
The micro is hard to describe, there are probably on Youtube one or the other test, but if you do then tests himself, quickly arise out problems.
Of course you can not expect here Top sound quality that is clear but still should be understood by his chat partner well and clearly. This may well be the case but again not without hooks. At a distance of about 50 cm from the mouth, and complete silence in the room, everything ok. If you then but noise of any kind has in the background, it is an ordeal for the opposite. One can imagine such a display roughly, it is either completely on or completely off. The Micro takes either all on or nothing. You could me even at a distance of 50 cm from the micro, chew hear (with mouth closed of course).
If no noise is present, is not at least the voice quality. But he prefers a separate microphone for under 10 euros, that is his business do better.
4. Processing and accessories
This point can be quickly process. My card was well processed, even if it is surprisingly light for its size. Unfortunately, all plastic, yet in order.
The package includes: a USB cable, a 3.5mm jack to 2 times Chinch adapter and a remote control.
5. Software - scope and functionality
Quite subjectively gave me the software of Omni very much, you have many settings such as: EQ, Crystal Voice (to adjust the microphone), SBX Pro Studio (also a kind of EQ where even the crossover of the sub can be adjusted) and diverse Preset programs.
If you moved to the EQ something, it really brings clear and what does not deteriorate the quality. Probably the biggest selling point of this soundcard!
Also quite objectively speaking, the software is not bad, it is clear and functional. Not's turn to complain about.
6. price / performance (currently 80 - 12.03.2014)
Partly decisive for the 3 star rating, the price bears no relation to the performance. Neither sound quality, power, quality of workmanship and materials used, still subjektiber impression justify this price.
7. Conclusion and my subjective opinion
The Omni is not what half, something whole. She has a satisfactory sound quality but not enough power. It is well made but only plastic. It has a built-in micro but no good, or satisfactory Klangqualität.Sie has a good software but it must also.
I have the Omni returned, would they still retaining if she had, tasted either A 50 or B, more power had had.
It is in its conception a unique product, which but could have been so good unfortunately fails halfway there, unfortunately.
Although the Omni from me gets 3 stars because they gave me subjectively reasonably fall, I can recommend anyone, however, as there are simply better alternatives.
Ok, then, I thank you very much to you, you have taken the time to read my recession.
