- A BluRay Player 1st generation (with built-in fan, high access times and moderate drive)
- A media player of Fantec
After I connected the player to a menu showed that a media player is similar.
The lack of display is not a problem for my use case, since I have anyway switched the TV when using the device.
Amazon Instant Video
is on the device as an app. preinstalled. Ie with its Amazon credentials you can browse through the library of Amazon and play movies or series.
++ ++ BluRay
- Noise
is good. No fan available.
BluRays be read immediately. The drive more audible after inserting a medium. However, it involves the movement of the laser unit which happened during the analysis disc. Once the film gets going, the sound is over.
The rotation noise is supplied with the device, barely audible.
- Image Quality
BluRay is very good.
I tested with "Avatar" and "The Dark Knight Rises"
The sharpness of the player is very high.
BluRays see so very well.
With Batman there was but a half-dark scene in which on a light background appeared a granular representation.
I imagine that I have not seen this as on the other BluRay Player.
For DVDs, however, I feel that this is too grainy.
So far I have not found any settings that you can turn back the sharpness of the player.
Maybe you have to adjust what's on TV or projector. I have not tested.
With Amazon Instant Video is the picture drawn much softer compared to the Amazon Fire TV. It almost seems as if it were a movie in standard definition, which has been scaled up. Tested & I compared that with the film "Oblivion", which is currently at Prime available.
- Sound Quality
is good. All Bluray or DVD formats are played. Amazon Instant Video is its content in Dolby Digital back (when the film or the series serving)
For this, the sound output to "passthrough" must be connected and the amplifier must support this course in the "Settings".
++ ++ Media Player
Attached is a 2TB 2.5-inch hard drive.
The USB port has enough amperage to power the drive. This means that no power supply is required.
MKVs run uncomplicated.
The change of audio tracks is much faster than on the Fantec.
Subtitles within the MKV are recognized and rendered.
An advance for Fantec.
The pity is that ISOs do not run from my DVDs. This was also not maintained by the manufacturer, hoping I had it yet.
- Image Quality
looks good. So far I have only tested HD content.
-Tonqualität
all formats has been reproduced without objection.
- Photos
so far he has read all
-> The Fantec will leave me.
++++ Conclusion: +++++++
if I had been aware of what impact the technical development in the BluRay players on the "consumer convenience", then I would have long since changed.
Price performance is unbeatable.
For absolute perfectionist image at one point or another may not be good enough (see above).
For 55, - I can live very well with the experience and have a little more space in the closet.
