After 2013 again, the singer has been changed (the way an annoying trend in many metal bands - I do not care whether they are straight "kick out" their singers or you "want to go another way" simply), I thought "Oh no!" but far from it! Unlike many of her colleagues do Xandria namely here for the second time it right, not least because they have their singer replaced by a dignified, also classically trained successor, and serve on a silver platter or ling 12 pieces finest and bombastic symphonic metal seasoned with an outstanding soprano voice and without compromise! In fact, I would hardly be to give as with "Never World's End" able Anspieltipps because the album sounds simple consistantly good and allowed no hangover. Only the first and longest title "Sacrificium" (an interesting change, once the same to provide the almost obligatory in the genre of> 10 minute title to the beginning of the album) and "Dream Keeper" could not ignite really, but both are not bad and still coming after frequent Listen. The rest is a polished to a shine, and so coordinated mix of bombast, thrashing, fat drums, singing opera, orchestral and choral parts, that it is a pure joy. Like its predecessor, but also "Sacrificium" made entirely without growls and screams and therefore escapes from the outset in the other bands like cited accusation to copy the "Beauty and the Beast" -Gesangskonzept. Nevertheless, the CD works in any way to "softened".
For the production would have someone speak who has actually inkling; I'm no expert, but to me, the sound comes on the Bang & Olufsen fed up with the appropriate volume and very clearly over. The purpose of an additional instrumental CD reveals itself not me - especially in this type of music that is just really perfect only * with * the soprano voice. Therefore, I bought only the normal version of the album and for which there is deserved 5 star and a strong buy recommendation.
Among the permanent compare with Nightwish I have to say that they are legitimate in some way, have Nightwish the genre but advanced significantly (some might say "invented"). What is in my opinion not justified, it is here to shoot a plagiarism or to claim that the singer would sound too much like Tarja Turunen. Soprano's Soprano and sound natural sopranos "somewhat similar" but not identical! In fact, I was while listening to "Never World's End" by someone who did not know Xandria, asked if it was a CD of Tarja. When Manuela Kraller I like a certain similarity still concede (both actually had her vocal training in Finland), however, Dianne van Giersbergen sounds to me clearly different and goes more towards Melissa Ferlaak (ex Visions of Atlantis). I also want to say that the songs partially (!) Sound more like eg Visions of Atlantis as to Nightwish, but always keep their autonomy. Only "Little Red Relish" could have also come from Nightwish by her songwriting. Perhaps Xandria deliver now the music that would Nightwish made after 2005, if they had not been replaced by an objectively worse singer and maintain the style of "Once" their outstanding soprano (!) - But do not have it, so it's also no plagiarism , (This is now the way not to Nightwish, I also like their more recent albums, but this happens to go stylistically in a slightly different direction.)
It is often complained that there would be yes oh so many "female fronted" Gothic / Symphonic Metal bands who are trying differ little and only to copy the success of Nightwish - actually, there are a big no further notable pabulum and only very few good bands, but as high quality as Nightwish (whether with or without Tarja Turunen) are for at least accurate. Xandria have demonstrated the latest with this CD that they are clearly classified in the latter group.
