Unusual Heat (Audio CD)

Customer Review

May 1990 increases Lou Gramm of Foreigner at and will be replaced after a long search by ex-Wild Horse and King Kobra singer Johnny Edwards. July 1991 appears "Unusual Heat" and God knows, the album is exceptional! Production is album of Terry Thomas and bandleader Mick Jones. What makes also sound technically very noticeable! With "Only Heaven Knows" the album starts surprisingly gentle before it in mid - culminates bombastic chorus - pounding and melodic. Unfortunately recalls the implementation of the background, more like faceless Bon Jovi or Def Leppard - Junk! With heavy guitars - Riff's go from here. The first string stops, and there it is: Ooooohhhh yeahhhhh ..... Johnny Edwards smashes, like many songs of the album's be boring and Foreigner - "atypical" Schrei deposits! The Mid - Stampfer is well produced, but simply missed the extraordinary voice gram's, the Foreigner - give songs their distinctiveness. Vocally tickles Mick Jones, the absolutely feasible from Edward's voice out, but it just will not ignite. With "I'll Fight For You" there's the first powerful ballad! The gaudy drum's and the 'hard' song sound like any of any stadium - rock - band and just "feeling cold"! What generally displeases on the album, is in the past Foreigner Lou Gramm as co - author, was very often restricted and curtailed by Mick Jones, but here now must hand to create a completely "new" member of each title with. Even the intervention of producer Terry Thomas is disadvantageous for the song - Output. When next Mid - Stampfer "Moment Of Truth" Edwards leaves a strong "Heyyyyyy" going before Dennis Elliott knock off. "Mountain Of Love" starts with a "bluesy" guitar - riff and the same beat, but now Edwards makes with "Oooooooohhhhhhhh, Yeaaaaaaaahhhhhh" noticeable. The song's you can really listen well but have not as the band - typical whistle. With "Ready For The Rain" there is a little quieter but this ballad missing something feel. With "When The Night Comes Down" follows a more pop ballad. Beautiful track construction and passable melody. Then it sounds for the first time on this album by Foreigner. Mick Jones is finally alone responsible for this tearjerker and shows a very nice harmony and melodies: Unfortunately I miss gram's gifted voice. "No Hiding Place" reminiscent of the style of her "Reaction To Action" from the year 1984. Powerful and hard rock band in the mid tempo! "Flesh Wound" then comes back therefore in good Foreigner manner. Great Jones grooving riff and a driving beat. My tip of the album's. "Unusual Heat" then concludes the album. The rocker has a very nice guitar solo and chorus good - qualities! As an opener he would fit better. Conclusion: 11 well-produced songs to Terry Thomas unfortunately something the Foreigner - Takes Soul. Unfortunately, Johnny Edwards, despite excellent performance, replace Lou Gramm in any way or make us forget! Sonically very punchy captured on CD. This album should Mick Jones a Dejavue - have experience. I erinner briefly in 1974 as Jones with Gary Wright one last time reformed Spooky Tooth and presented with Mike Patto a "new" singer. It was with "The Mirror" one of the band Los dissolved very strong rock album but the Spooky - was not adopted Fans of the first hour: so here too ... As an independent album considered quite well, as Foreigner - album rather a bit disappointing! !!
