The image quality, just a dream. Whether conventional television, DVD, Bluray, 2D or in 3D (2D can be extrapolated to 3D) a completely new experience. Dirty screen or other disturbing effects I could not perceive, or I'm blind as a bat.
Even a 6 years old satellite receivers, via SCART - cable is connected, the offers only SD quality (720 x 576), yet delivers a brilliant viewing experience. Upscaling is performed from the TV.
When I think of the HD + disease (limited recording, no cutting of recordings, no fast forward in advertising ') me "normal" television in SD quality is better.
Here are some tips that may not be as clearly stated in the product description.
Recording programs:
Sat - programs are recorded on a DVD recorder with hard disk, which is connected to the satellite receiver. About DVBT received station will be received by the LG on the external hard drive. To use a USB flash drive for recording does not work. No I presently contemplated LG with integrated satellite receiver could be a satellite signal to pass to a recording device.
In the setting I as described above can watch DVBT and take from the satellite, but not vice versa. During a DVBT receiving the input signal can not be changed - does not allow the court, except the voice recording is canceled. Recording on the connected hard disk is to be controlled by means of EPG, without any problems, super comfortable and intuitively. Connected via the USB1 is a 250GB 2.5 '' HD which does not require its own power supply. These images can not be processed on a PC. The LG has a simple editor with this.
The Sound:
The sound is adequate, does not sound bad, neither tinny nor thin. Excessive expectations but you should not make. I was initially rather satisfied with the sound, in terms of the excellent image reproduction which cinematic experience raises, but the sound is really the weak point. I then still the Yamaha YHT-401S bought separately and can only say: The movie enjoyment in a Bluray 2 or 3D experiences then another increase.
Operation:
The additionally available Magic Motion remote control is really an asset. Is basically like a wireless mouse with a few buttons and offers easy, quick access to all functions on the TV. Especially with the online features almost indispensable. There is also a free app for Android and iPhone, which allows wireless control with your smartphone if your home WLAN is active. However, the 40 euros extra for the Magic Motion are then already do not care.
USB
If there is something to complain about then there. Only 2x USB - this is definitely not enough. Magic Motion requires USB - WLAN requires USB connection. This end is ground and it eliminates the possibility of recording via external HD. - Therefore had to lay a network cable, although the wireless dongle would work well.
Audio out:
Only a digital optical output. So the opportunity is the TV sound via an existing stereo - run facility somewhat limited. Headphone jack there's also a, the sound is then automatically be heard only in the headphones. I miss a switchover when using wireless headphones.
Internet:
Not bad to quickly retrieve time information on weather, headlines, etc.. Youtube videos can look Also, Google Maps is also great. For Facebook and Twitter, friends also something there. Some LG Apps are entertaining to interesting. My Apps will not be installed, is a closed system. After connecting to the network a software update has been played by the same LG.
For Internet browsing, the browser is too slow and cumbersome to use, can not show embedded videos. Also IppTv not running. That could all be better implemented.
HbbTV:
Perhaps with an HbbTV-capable satellite - receiver. So nothing works.
DLNA:
Have Plex installed on the notebook and can be as music, image and video files easily stream to the TV.
what else?
The base acts stable, but I got him never mounted. Wall mounting with a swiveling bracket, the Vogels EFW 8425 is better. Although is not exactly a bargain but worth the money. The thus gained ease of use and the flexibility I do not want to miss.
