Holla, sometimes you have to take only just under 31 minutes, a hearty Prog / Death-lesson, to ensure a fait accompli. Just as in the case of newcomers from The Faceless who put on their second album "Planetary Duality" pretty much all the stops her musical talent to the test. Even sometimes beyond - Here, the quintet is partly hard to the limits of endurance. But even if the 9 songs from "Planetary Duality" quite chaotic and dissonance in love popping out of the boxes ... at the latest during the third Hördurchlauf to extreme Frickel-grenades like "Shape Shifters", "Sons of Belial", "Prison born" or "add Xenochrist "naturally together, and burn themselves without hesitation into long-term memory of the listener. The Faceless make this basically stop at nothing. In ICE pace they race through their songs and shake the hammer riffs immediately by the dozen from his sleeve. The basis here is abysmally nasty Death Metal with Schmackes which is but enriched in every nook and cranny by genre atypical influences, and thus survived by his unpredictability. "Planetary Duality" is thus over the entire season - as I said 31 minutes - a single sound piñata. The guitarist conjure speedy jazz solos from the wrist, then convince the next moment by "catchy" melodies or riffs in groove MACHINE HEAD format. The drummer is behind his shooting the insane drum monster and masters even the most demanding time changes and most aggressive shred blast beats with almost inhuman ease. Acoustic sprinklings, surprising Black Metal quotations, classical inspired piano interludes, suddenly a genuine Power Metal chorus as from the textbook, plus a metalcore Beatdown of the spontaneous "Circle Pit" -Walk inviting .... and then shoot again , shoot, shoot. The Faceless are stressful, chaotic and this sublime music of all doubt. Where pseudo-innovative riot combos as BENEATH THE MASSACRE or WHITECHAPEL the listener simply want to add acoustic pain, The Faceless and again responsible for "relief" and have this one meter wide grin on his face. Or else ... this band sounds as would musicians of MONSTROSITY, Despised Icon MESHUGGAH and CANNIBAL corspe (the LSD-noise and a 5-liter jug espresso!) Nights covers of CYNIC or ATHEIST gamble. Conclusion: Planetary Duality "is a prime example of sophisticated thrashing sound and, together with" Cosmogenesis "(OBSCURA) and" Resurrection Macabre "(PESTILENCE) to the most incredible prog / death moments of the year with chaos level !!!.
