The book reads like a roller coaster ride through the life of a schizophrenic. Because even though I have seen the movie at least 5 times already surprised and captivated me the book like no other. Palahniuk writes in such a direct, authentic and pissed off that little time remains to process the hefty scenes and events. Compared to film the story is much more violent and rough. So Tyler has, for example, of his first battles a hole in the jaw and some fight scenes are described in great detail. The "letting go" and the interplay between the two characters is far more effective than clear on celluloid. Contributes especially the first-person perspective, told the urban fairy tale in the Palahniuk. And in the midst of this story of the abandonment of normal life, turning to anarchy and self-destruction, everyone can find somewhere its truth, everyone has their favorite record and each piece of Tyler Durden be. From the language here is the book for more advanced than recommended for beginners, because especially in the technischen- and chemical explanations of the handle to the dictionary (usually) is indispensable. Like many English paperbacks leaves the paper quality to be desired here. Very thin, recycled paper invites not necessarily to merhmals read on, you want the book still retain a little before außeinanderfällt.
