Typical of all Quentin Tarantino strip is the strikingly outstanding selection of songs. Whether in Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction or Jackie Brown - It's hard to always manages, music, as he believe the complete opposite of the mainstream mean to integrate into his films that the songs not only "back" sound fresh as a daisy but capture the "coolness" of the movie so and substantiate like nothing else. I must confess that I have listened to the soundtrack "before" I was in the movie. That's why I had to also connect some problems, the tracks with the film. However, I stayed after the movie theater experience no doubt: The soundtrack fits like the fist on the eye. As the world's best tailor had made a suit made to measure. From rock to electro-sounds to Tex-Mex sounds every genre is here pretty much represented. Does not necessarily mean that the soundtrack is thrown together meaningless. It's just the music for a film. Not to compare with a sampler on any topic. So you should always be prepared for a wild mixture of the Tarantino'schen laboratory.
The "hammer hard" which is to be heard in the trailer track and later on in the film (Battle Without Honor or Humanity) is, of course, can also be found on the album. Next to songs such as divided (Bang Bang ... ...) "My baby shot me down" by Nancy Sinatra (cool guitar sound with "surf effect") or "The Lonely Shepherd" (Zamfir) seamlessly into the overall picture of soundtracks.
All this comes as always from Quentin Tarantino's private record collection. And that is indeed how he himself claims, "The coolest in the world". He's right. So why hire a composer expensive if all you need at home in the living room rumfliegt. So: For all the in movie this soundtrack were an absolute must. Quentin T. missed dusty B-side singles adrenaline syringe and brought them back to life. "New" Tracks panting far behind but serve more as "tractor" for the sound "TREK". All others are encouraged to jump on this train. : O)
