Functional USB-Y cable

I ordered some time ago an external USB hard drive (2.5-inch format) incl. External housing and attached USB Y-cable. To my amazement, "klackerte" said disk when connected to a PC via an active USB HUB always quite strange and "hung" on or did not go right.
I purchased the offered here USB Y-cable by Delock and noted with this Y-cable, the external hard drive is running properly. The manufacturer of my hard drive has the article accompanied by a low-grade cable to my knowledge. The DeLock cable is processed so that it provides the necessary milliamp power of energy to operate the hard drive. In my view, a good product that meets my expectations.
Also operating a UMTS USB stick is equipped with an additional UMTS parabolic antenna amplifier (more transmit and receive performance = therefore more energy requirement) succeeds with the DeLock USB Y-cable.
I am happy with the product and bought this manufacturer for other uses another USB Y-cable.
