When I enrolled for this book in the Critical Mass Goodreads I did only the title and publisher, having never read anything by its author. I was expecting rather a big fat novel Fantasy that I like and I admit I was a bit disappointed when I realized it was a collection of 6 new even if all revolve around the same topic , The Dragon Griaule. I'm still quickly launched in the second reading and then disappointment, this dragon has nothing to those to which we are accustomed, he would rather the remains of what was huge dragon, and immobilized by a spell but can not die simply grow and influence the world around him. And that's how the party for a good old Fantasy novel full of fury and fighting I found myself reading full of questions and new insights. For if all these new revolve around Griaule, it primarily enable the author to expound on free will, from that of the individual to that of peoples to themselves. Overall I especially appreciated two of these stories, "The stones of the Father" and "The Skull", perhaps the most dynamic of the lot. In the first, a survey in the tone of American crime novels will make us follow an investigator in a story that feels well-conducted handling, and in the second we will see a rather far from brilliant revolution in Central America that the author seems to know. Otherwise the real positive point of this reading for me will remain the author whose clear style and driving, and especially the tone too serious ever allowed me to never get bored even when the stories corresponded a little less. In the end I can only thank the Belial and Goodreads for this nice discovery of a real author, and the Critical Masses continue long to bring me their refreshing discoveries.
