"The Hunchback of Notre Dame" is a beautiful film without depths, but with heights. It is very dramatic, but I find that even Disney should now and then do something else. The soundtrack fits the accordingly, and when I heard that the competent composer Alan Menken, I immediately bought the soundtrack. Menken has indeed written not many scores in his career, but the ones he has made are unique. With "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" Menken is something much better than usual yet succeeded. He has many things: drama in equal first title "The Bells of Notre Dame". A t0olle tune with goosebumps guarantee deposits and choir is commanded us here. "Once" begins tragically. The stepfather of a Hunchback persuaded him that he was disfigured. This "truth" and defeat has Menken managed with music to accompany perfectly. The whole soundtrack is very grim built with many choral deposits, as in "Paris is burning" and "right of asylum". The enormity and despair comes very well used. "The fire of Hell" is supported an impressive song with chorus, just fantastic. In conclusion, one can say that this soundtrack by Alan Menken of dunkleste he is, but for me the best. For this fabulous work you can also assign 6 star.
If you are looking for other good composers, I recommend John Williams, Michael Giacchino and Frank Churchill.
