I am a smartphone beginner, always online, look usually about 3 times a day on the internet what, and bring about 3 short telephone calls per day. I take no game apps, but only those who bring me an informative benefit - ie mainly go. For me, the smartphone compact dimensions and the longest possible battery life are important. Good usability and perfect Telephony Features I suppose these days.
In terms battery life I've been told that smartphones just keep on average by 1 day. This is normal. That's not true! Because the Xperia U holds 3 to 4 days with me. Even five days I have ever done (but then hardly used). Is certainly not an isolated case. My colleague uses the Xperia Sola and has had similar experiences.
Only could the Galaxy Ace 2 because unfortunately not keep up, the device has initially managed just 40 hours and well after a defect (?) Only 17 hours (standby ..). The Ace 2 then went back. Too Bad. Was there not bad. By the way: On both devices, I had the same apps (about 15 pieces) installed, that is here not sure the cause for different maturities.
For camera: I have found that both devices did not constitute a meaningful substitute for the digital camera. The XPERIA has in contrast to Ace2 a push. However, the images are often Ace2 sharp as the XPERIA. The tripping time is beyond good and evil, at worst the XPERIA. Both devices really are for snapshots only when time is not a true digital camera on hand.
Software / usability: The Ace2 comes with Android 2.3. Whether an update to 4.x comes is uncertain. If you look at times like this Samsung looks (eg S3 mini) one can guess that the very product separation because not too large differences in hardware performance sure to come with the software.
The Xperia also comes with 2.3 and can be updated to 4.0.4. Whether 4.1 comes is currently probably uncertain.
In the operation, the Samsung has something better I like them. Here, the Android was probably reprogrammed vigorously. Sure, after acclimatization to get there by Sony now cope as well. But Samsung has the edge here a tick before continue.
The display of the Sony is slightly smaller than that of the Ace. In addition, Samsung is brighter and the colors shine more beautiful. But the differences are certainly dramatic (I opted for the Sony).
Conclusion: If you want a relatively small device in your pocket and also a device with long battery life and also does not want rumdattelt all day on the part is well served with the Xperia my view.
