I bought the the title Kaffeevollautomaten almost exactly three months ago. This is used by me and my girlfriend in equal parts, every now and then to "coffee visit".
--- The delivery --- The machine was delivered very quickly and was therefore in a very neat package. Beautifully packaged in Styrofoam and aluminum parts pasted over with foil, so that nothing can get broken or scratched. In that regard, so ever top! How do I find - - Installation and commissioning thanks to the very good instructions were also a breeze. One should of course bear in mind that a coffee machine occupies much more space than would a commercial filter coffee machine! ;-)
--- Initial Settings --- Also very fast & easy was then the flow rate and the coffee strength regulated. Both can be very pleasant to adjust directly to the front panel with two rotary knobs. For safety's sake I leave then some "scavenging passages" run. To this end, there was no concrete reason, but I do in any kind of product by new acquisition.
--- The Coffee --- Of course it is with this DeLonghi just like any other coffee machines or coffee also: the coffee quality directly affects the result in the cup from! I had first times the organic fairtrade coffee tried by Mr Albrecht. Did not taste bad and the crema was OK After that - for about a good Euro more - the Tchibo Caffe Crema (full-bodied): the making but times really fun! Rich Crema, full-bodied taste - and the crema remains also a whole corner longer. Since then me no more bean comes in my DeLonghi. ;-) Theory offers this fully automatic even the possibility of ground coffee to be filled. These things I have not tried but himself! Hearsay intended but rather less work well and taste.
--- --- Cappuccino The Milchaufschäumdüse succeeds relatively well and in a relatively short time to prepare a proper froth. It might takes some practice until the foam really succeed as desired so, but the technical possibilities offered are sufficient. Let just leave a small cup of coffee run into the cup, then take Milchaufschäumdüse in operation, heat and then a cup (preferably a aluminum vessel) with milk underneath. After frothing easy again pull the plug, pour milk on the coffee in the cup first - and enjoy!
--- --- Power Save Due to various EU directives, this is now indeed duty: Electrical appliances must be similar on an automatic shutdown . feature Has the DeLonghi 3200 S course! After two hours of non-use, the machine switches off automatically and leads before another wash cycle from. By means of a switch / controller on the rear panel could be this function but rather gradually between half and set two hours. Here I have so far not made any changes.
--- The pomace --- Taking a coffee, so first the fixed amount is ground to coffee beans. To this end, let me say that it can not affect the amount of beans, but rather the degree of grinding and the amount of water. It must be noted that the grinding process is of course a bit noisy! Personally, I have no problems, because this noise by maybe some 15-20 seconds over again. I was also not yet addressed by any neighbors that I pray in the morning at half past 6 nor to drink coffee. ;-) After the water is "pushed" out of the machine through the coffee, the remaining coffee (pomace) is ejected into a collecting tray. This sits inside the machine and can accommodate about 7-8 grindings. After a lamp is lit and the pomace is emptying. Likewise, the drip tray beneath the aluminum cups grid. The pulp-collecting tray is, I think, the only downer on the DeLonghi ESAM 3200 S: I think, the drip tray is not very convenient constructed. A cleaning of the shell is possible, but then just wipe them quite cumbersome. Depending on how often you drink coffee, it could well happen that the remaining in the device pomace moldy start. Then you should of course also clean the bowl. And the "residue-free" drying is the selected shape of the shell not sooo easy. Here I would like personally to revise part of the manufacturer.
--- --- CONCLUSION I have come to appreciate the fully automatic right in the three months of use and would not want to miss it! That reminds me of the coffee also tastes really good, and that was also previously confirmed by each guest, I can say: I have no regrets! The machine also has very strong visually upgraded my (small but nice) kitchen. I can here the way recommend the silver version very: the black, we had to work, but did not nearly as high as the 3200 S. Who now bothered by the noise of the machine during grinding of the coffee, which was referred to the manufacturer Jura, WMF and the like. In the same breath it should be mentioned that then of course the price trebled and more. The identified for improvement for the pomace drip tray still does not stop me because - just including price / performance - to award full five stars for this DeLonghi. Who likes to drink coffee and is ready for spending some more money, as for filter coffee, which may like to access here.
PS: For "coffee price per cup": At work we had at that time created a calculation of how much a (large) cup of coffee costs about, if one includes the water softener and coffee beans in the price. We arrived at a little less than 15 cents on the assumption that the kilogram beans costs 10 EUR (Tchibo) and which is also used on Amazon available original DeLonghi EcoDecalker.
