Who can keep you from the rather tired first single "Tatoo" (the song, with its rather tired refrain that is fortunately not representative of the rest of the album) that new Van Halen album to hear missed a lot of fun. And who poprockiges like "Jump" expected could also be disappointed. The other 12 tracks are in the best tradition of the first Van Halen albums. The original line-up with David Lee Roth minus Mike Anthony (now Chickenfoot), ideally replaced by Eddie Van Halen's son Wolfgang, is admirably playful mood and has audible fun at this reunion. Whether it is keeping all doomsayers, who knows - the joy of new material, it in no way diminishes. And on the deluxe edition DVD you get another 4 clips of an acoustic session as an encore - also nice.
