Story: You can clearly see that they have put more emphasis on a tight re-told story in this part. The story can be traced back to logically from the beginning and builds throughout the game a very mysterious and exciting mood. Sudden twists, surprising events round off the nice story. Solely the end made me again so excited. The comparison with the 3rd part: It's even worse ... But mitlerweile I'm used to that adventures are jerky to the end ....
Puzzles: Good mix of logic and Kombinierrästseln. There are also back the hated in the 3rd part jacking box, but do not worry, come really rare. It must be slipped again, with these tasks quite infrequent and barely disturb the flow of the game. In the third part arisen action sequences was it completely dispensed with -> well.
Control: Optional with cursor keys or the mouse. George and Nico remain partially attached to objects and obstacles, take some commands not or wrong, in short, the control system should be patched again correctly. Despite these errors, our characters can be controlled fairly intuitive and easy.
Graphics: Easy bolstered optics, compared to the 3rd part. Especially the facial features and textures of the game pieces have been cleaned up. What is noticeable is that the environment in which our heroes move partly very lively, has been lovingly designed, other venues but too sterile and act created almost hasty. Especially at the beginning of the game to me, this is noticed.
Sound: Sound Technically, Broken Sword has always been a real size. That has not changed in the 4th part. Orchestral soundtrack, discreet, very suitable background soundtrack. In short order, the music is excellent again. With the synchronization, however, have been not quite satisfactory: In my opinion, at George two Synschronsprecher were used or Alexander Schottky was partly ill during the recording, otherwise I can not imagine such differences in voice. There are places in the game in which we no longer really know who has spoken the last sentence. Nico is again spoken to the happiness of the charming Franziska Pigulla and white as always fully convincing (though they would have tolerated my opinion more text ;-)). The voice of Anna Maria is fine, but nothing special. A general problem of Synschro is that the intonation of the words and phrases in many cases, unfortunately, is completely wrong, just does not fit the situation. The small Hackel land of Nico and George have also become better again, Georges sarcasm stinks again to heaven (in positive terms).
Conclusion: Broken Sword trying the 4th part back to its roots go back. Partly it creates the Spie also, nevertheless, such a mature and perfect game as the first part is far from it. The reason: The Locations partially unloving, many characters just not saying it just falls short on typical Broken Sword feeling. Despite a solid game, recommended for fans of series, for all others: Preview! Perhaps the producers get carried to a part in 2D again, would certainly a step in the right direction.
