Customer Review

This album does not contain any new tracks. That's right, and, in my opinion, perfectly legitimate, because this is a compilation of Madonna's best songs since "Erotica", 1992, published in 2000 by the "Music". No new song as a draft horse, just the best - who else dares mean? With "Deeper And Deeper" blaring directly at the beginning of a disco stomper from the speakers, which leaves you wanting more. And that is also offered, namely of "Erotica", which at that time so down song made that, after the "anti-Madonna-wave" has settled, very catchy and erotic, never more so provocative, einhämmert in the ear canals. It follows "Human Nature", again the animated a very bass-heavy dance track. No highlight, but when you listen to the lyrics you realize that this song just heard on a Madonna-Best-Of, because here it concludes with the then unloved for many "Erotica era" and strives for novelty. "Secret" is a beautiful, guitar-coded midtempo piece, result of the new development, which began on the album "Bedtime Stories" in 1994. It is for this album come also "Take A Bow", a to my taste a little too schmaltzy ballad, but in 1995 remained a mere 7 weeks at the top of the US charts, and composed by Björk "Bedtime Story", which, in addition to the development to calmer tones, already refers to the Electric Lady, as we should bekommenn to hearing. First, it is but once again quiet, where Madonna shines with "Do not Cry For Me Argentina" with its steeled from voice lessons voice. From here it goes very fast: Madonna's best musical years unplug "The Power Of Good-Bye", a beautifully orchestrated, very (nice) bitter ballad, every listener in its spell at the latest. So, without too many words: "Beautiful Stranger" grooves, "Frozen" kidnapped in other spheres, "Ray Of Light" brings the blood boiling, "Do not Tell Me" surprises with its distinctive guitar-sample, "Drowned World / Substitute For Love "brings the listener (in the best sense) back on the carpet by the vertäumten" bleeps ", the relaxed drum'n'bass sound and - last but not least - the wonderful, reflected text. "What It Feels Like For A Girl" is the obligatory ode to the sweet femininity, which is not to be defeated and "Music", well, this one can hardly say anything else: everybody knows, it grooves, rips, cool & arrogant, but makes (or anyway ?!) always fun! Who needs something new in this fireworks ?! Definitely no. So let's sit back, browse through the seemingly countless photos in the booklet, Madonna enjoy creative work of the past year and look forward Zents secretly before on what soon awaits us Mrs. Ritchie.
