Brother P-touch 2430PC Black Edition Label Printer (Office supplies & stationery)

Customer Review

... Unfortunately with modest print quality.

I have long wondered what device should I buy, the possibilities are so huge, and so with ABCDEF keyboard with QWERTY keyboard, without keyboard, with USB connection without USB port, different maximum bandwidth, automatic cutting and so on.
In the beginning I was unsure whether a pure computer-controlled device is the right choice to from time to time quickly print a label and that the software is not an unkind cobbled together application that is complicated to operate and constantly crashes.

I have it then but dared, given the relatively low price, and was not disappointed.
The included software offers many opportunities to make the labels individually - with any installed font, with (black and white) graphics, freely configurable alignment etc. Thus, it beats any device that does not have a PC connection.

If you cut only one label, the beginning you always something (1.8 cm) of wastes, however, you can print multiple labels at the same time, you can activate "Print continuously" so that the "waste" once incurred at the beginning. What bothers me is that not that short pieces you can use to attach great list on the fridge, etc. ;-)

Depending on tape costs an average label (approximately 5 cm) about 5 to 20 cents, if you daily multiple labels will print that goes safely into the money - for home use but I think that's reasonable.

The print speed is sufficient and the automatic cutting works perfectly. Unfortunately, the device also has a negative side:
The print quality. I do not have other devices to compare, so I can not judge whether this implies for all devices is technically, so I take that device and only one star from.
As is actually printed here only one color (without grayscale), and the print pixels are very large (with naked eye), obtained in oblique letters (A, Y, K, etc.) totally pixelated lines. I wanted to print with a cursive font 3.5mm labels - came out is just a Pixelbrei you could not decipher.
The print quality can not compete with inkjet or laser printers by far.
Looking at the labels only from a distance, but the quality is just enough yet.
