It was the master himself, who wrote a successful theme tune to the body VOYAGER. Jerry Goldsmith's theme is very lofty and quiet, thanks to 50-piece orchestra even more bombastic than some of its feature film compositions. It is only the question of whether the series no better a strange-sounding melody should have missed, finally VOYAGER plays indeed in a completely strange part of the galaxy ... Jay Chattaways musical contribution is the Goldsmith in every way, he manages with driving strings a hugely exciting atmosphere with a touch of mysticism to create and partially achieved this feature film quality. One would only may refrain "The Caretaker's Hoedown", the banjo-piece, attach it to the remaining tracks, as it quite disturb the overall impression gained by then. Conclusion: even if the Series VOYAGER not particularly (which is true of many Trek fans) like the soundtrack to the pilot is still highly recommended.
