This separately purchased extended LEDstripe with 5m and RGB-W should be integrated into an existing network HUE / Bridge.
[The supplied LEDstripe has only RGB (!) And 3m and a weaker power supply with 2A]
RGB-W has the immense advantage that it still has a 4th LED which makes for a much better color accuracy, as now pure white light (4th white LED in addition to the 3 primary colors red blue green) is possible
For this you have to get a stronger power supply with 5A (60Watt) and to connect this power supply to the FLS-PP Controller DC coupling.
Both can be online and easily find no local, but the latter, for example, at Reichelt.de online (Item number: 2575 AKK DC; DC cable, 2x0,75mm, coupling 2.5m)
Result:
- The connection of the stripe to the power supply and coupling works very easily and quickly.
- The integration of the existing Stripe HUE network works flawlessly right away
So far everything well, but:
- All lights, except for the white! The white LEDs are completely broke ..
The support of Dresden Elektronik confirmed that Philips the RGBW (yet ??) do not support, with the result that no available HUE APP can control the white LEDs!
RGBW Stripes are therefore currently out waste of money, because they can not be fully exploited, despite matching controller.
The cheaper pure RGB Stripes are therefore sufficient.
The support held it possible that the company could Dresden Elektronik bring out an app that supports this.
But this is probably kniffig because it can lead to incompatibilities in Philips.
- Who is now the long RGB-W will disconnect LED stripes and SOLDERLESS wants to install along rectangular eg to the TV margins experienced now also a big surprise (!)!
There are on the whole market do not (folding) corner connectors support the 5 pins (instead of 4 pins)!
This problem was also confirmed by Dresden Eletronik and is so far without solution.
Clean installations around the corner are therefore only consuming soldering possible: ((
CONCLUSION:
On the whole, for pure RGB LED installations a great product to expand its existing Zigbee Philips / Osram lamp set!
Due to the above drawbacks but the controller not yet be fully utilized, therefore (still) only 4 stars
