In a computer and network guy, so I like to really get into my firewalls and customize them. I was using Avast but It was time to renew and I didnt like how the cartoony interface which, nor did I feel like the way They kept pushing 3rd party stuff and more Avast junk.
I wanted the 5 devices version but I could never get it on the sale price, so I bought this twice.
First Super Uber plus
++++++++++ There was ZERO requests to install 3rd party software during the install process !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pros
+ I like the VirusScan options (it found a virus did Avast had missed)
+ I like the simplicity of the main interface
+ I like the multiple devices package price
+ I like that it does not use a lot of resources running in the background
+ I like that I could install it in English (though I wasnt sure I could do that till I tried it)
+ I like that you can password protect "permanent" modifications to rules
Cons
- I dont like that the temp firewall rules are not kept somewhere so I can see what I have done in the past and modify it or make it a permanent rule
- I dont like the "advanced interface", it needs to allow you access to the adjustments and not require you to authorize every bloody change if you have already logged into Advanced mode.
- Advanced Interface Should Have Access to all rules
- There Should be a simple log function on the main interface to display temp state changes
So far only about 3 weeks with it, Im very satisfied with the price and performance. Its not perfect but Im still learning the interface so some of the problem Could just be trying to do things in fact the "wrong way". If I can sort out my issue with the firewall rules temp I would definitely give this a 5 star review.
