This is now the second rain collectors of this type that I bought.
The first is installed at the garden house and "quietly" (small head). Second, I have now mounted directly on the downpipe our house (height of fall about 3.5 m) and has the same experience as others do here. The falling water hits the inner slope of the rain collector. The resulting "drum sound" is actually quite loud. I have resorted in order to attach to the slope a 5mm rubber mat with two stainless steel screws. Now is calm ... The rain collector still works reliably.
The manufacturer should actually nachbesssern.
