In local electronics dealer I could test the camera live and was genuinely surprised how much can and moreover the camera in what quality.
The build quality is top. The housing itself looks very robust. One side of the camera is rubberized and provides a secure grip. Overall, in my opinion is to the camera comfortable to hold. Fujifilm promises that the camera is up to 10 meters under water resistant. The SD card is hiding in the camera behind a sealed with rubber flap, which in turn is backed up twice. Thus, water has to penetrate dust, sand or other dirt no chance in the camera. The closing of this flap is a little strict, but actually that's a good thing, because what if you accidentally underwater comes to the closure and this opens. (:) I naturally not tested) According to the manufacturer, the camera also up to a height of up to 2 meters are not damaged
As a nice feature I find the "Wireless Image Transfer" with which recordings directly via Wi-Fi on an Android / Apple device can be transferred (App Requirements: Fujifilm Photo Receiver). Actually, a great thing, you do not open zukönnen view these on a larger display (eg tablet) Camera.
I also managed the display, even with heavy sun exposure, the shot image can be easily identified with appropriate brightness setting. Some other models, I realized that you can see nothing more difficult or at intense sunlight.
For every situation there is a suitable program (beach, scuba diving, sunset, macro, etc..) To find the best image zuergattern. Here you have a little trial and error and experience what program fits when. Quite nice, I also think the program that recognizes the situation, a matching program selects and sets the best settings automatically. Gets it right is not always 100% but amazingly good.
Furthermore, I have to praise the battery life which is very long in my opinion (assuming you're working with various energy-saving methods).
What a little annoying, or getting used to I find the position of the lens, which is located on the far left. With my old camera the lens was located slightly to the right, so I occasionally get a finger into the picture with the Fujifilm. Furthermore, I find the Zoomwippschalter somewhat small.
In various test reports, the camera has inexplicably only get an average rating. This average rating I can neither understand nor confirm. The picture quality and video quality in my opinion in this price range very well. Of course you can not compare it with an SLR photo quality. Each case, I am of the camera despite og smaller weaknesses convinced and satisfied.
