The tone here already criticized "as spoken in a watering can" is a result of RightSound function "optimized" the sensitivity of the built-in microphone - if the driver holds the signal for overdriven, then he lowers it off. Would be ok if it would restrict ourselves to the signal level, but unfortunately also the frequency response is completely a mess. After turning off the in-camera software, everything sounds normal. With the existing sensitivity slider there, the recording volume can then adjust manually, at about 3/4 the ratio fits quite well. Subjectively, the sound seems a bit dull, the mono microphone of my old Logitech 5000PRO here has a little more clarity and treble on offer, but declined earlier to oversteer.
The camera image is generally good, but jerky in the factory settings in all resolutions clearly what is a result of RightLight function, which "optimizes" the sensitivity of Kamara (deja vue ...). The driver tried here according to the lighting conditions match the colors of the optical success is quite visible, but weighs the bucking not again. After clicking away the checkmark in the driver image in the camera software (and later in the video) is smooth. At least until 720p, 1080p, the screen looks smooth without RightLight not 100%, either USB or the camera are then probably at the limit. The tentative move to a USB 3.0 port brought no advantage, since the camera has been detected at this not at first (with Z77 chipset ASUS mobo, USB 2.0 sticks work at the ports).
Finally, the image, the driver has a flicker that makes your job mediocre. Effectively run at any resolution strips from top to bottom through the image, which indeed lose weight through the filter in intensity and frequency, however, are not completely removed. Not beautiful, mentioned earlier and has the old fashioned 5000PRO from the same manufacturer and never had this problem. The picture was there, although a lot less sharp, but much quieter and more pleasant to look at due to the lower resolution.
For driver itself, the current version LWS have downloaded from the product page at Logitech 2.80a for Win 8 x64 directly, during installation the message arrived promptly, these drivers would not be compatible with the used camera. You can safely ignore the driver still works.
In conclusion, there are 4 stars, unrestricted purchase recommendations you can not say in which part, you do not do a lot wrong but.
Addendum: After the downgrade to Windows 7 and the driver LWS 2.51, the problem has improved with the Flicker. This, however, RightLight must be enabled, which also here to bucking the waves but almost completely filtered out. At issue with RightSound the driver change has not changed, the gain reduction also leads under W7 and LWS 2:51 to very creepy distortion.
Addendum 2: After an upgrade to Windows 8.1 per x64 with the already under Win8 (.0) used LWS 2.80a has at least improved the image. The strips and the stuttering vanished in RightLight activated, RightSound leads as usual to unbauchbaren results.
Basically, I am with the camera what the image relates satisfied, however, are recording via the microphone on the highest sensitivity somewhat quietly. The camera is designed to accommodate a ca 2m distant guitar amp for practice, this must be clearly operated on low volume to create useful volume on the videos.
