The establishment of the player is simple and fast by the hand. First, I have the device connected via cable to a switch to it not "scrap" with a mature firmware update. Then I took the device via WLAN in operation. The Twonky server was found immediately and already could music be heard. Internet Radio also works, but I use rather rare (which is partly because runs as streams is
quality at the lowest level MP3!). The sound of the NP 2500 is very good.
The music collection is mainly available in FLAC format, which was also the main reason the NP to acquire in 2500. There is however, points that are still great need of improvement:
- Neither Flac still with MP3 gapless playback is possible, live or Kozept albums (eg "Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here" must be saved as a file and can then only be fully heard
- The device can not with embedded Cuesheets, even with external Cuesheets start anything that entails: s next point.
- As "coil" in title is not possible, you must, for example, with live albums, from which you want to hear Title 5, previously also hear tracks 1-4.
- It's happening right now in Flac files repeatedly that at the end of the file are cut off for several seconds, so do the titles rather abruptly. The ribs of the music that has apparently nothing to do after many tests.
- To display covers it is possible to put in the folder a picture (preferably not larger than 400x400 dpi), and call them "folders". (In the file Foobar "Folder" should read ;-) why not here?). Subsequently, however, it is necessary to re-read the media directories and rebuild the database. With 10,000 titles with an upward trend, this procedure takes longer, however, increasingly.
- From time to time there are Flac files that can not be played. Foobar thus has no problems, and after you've converted the file again in the same format, it goes well with the NP2500.
- Flac formats other than 16 bit / 48 kHz (. Eg 24/96) can not be played
- The display shows the format is not displayed is played (MP3, FLAC, etc.)
- Details as 3 out of 12 titles would be nice but not musthave.
- If you play albums about the directory structure from the individual titles are reproduced alphabtisch place in the original order - it is simply a joke!
All in all I am satisfied with the device, if the above points would be considered in a future firmware update, very satisfied.
