Good device with annoying quirks

I have now two Vantage VT-1000C. The second I bought because I had overcome the difficulties of starting up the first after some time and it took me a second device. To make a long story short, I am very satisfied with the technology and the price. A few initial problems were manageable and could detract from the positive impression only slightly (ie, 1 star less, as an incentive for the producer):
Device 1) First station search finds no transmitter, so I searched and started to turn to the settings, the relevant Internet forums. Suddenly, the receiver takes a few channels, but not all. Then he finds again no, and so it remained then. After about 3 hours further application on the PC, I discovered the release notes of the latest firmware updates and lo and behold, the mistake was listed and recorded as fixed. I therefore via USB stick performed a firmware upgrade and then everything was fine.

Device 2) The second unit I bought about 6 months later, and it was already installed a current and functional firmware. Commissioning was thus a matter of a few minutes. Three weeks later came the first picture loss on my LCD TV on, and with the help of the older device was then quickly realized that the new receiver was defective. Can happen, but already the settlement of the returns to the Amazon Partner telephone let me then but doubt a quick settlement of the repair. No matter, the main thing the device is repaired and later this year back.

Both devices have stuck a protective film on sides and lid, and who once begins has to remove a trip on. The film sticks like hell, leaving some adhesive residue on the metal, and stay at every bolt and every kink hang that need it abzufummeln film residues.

My wife is happy with the handling of the device (channel lists !!). The really good manual is only for people who have already read everything, because it is not required, the on-screen installation is virtually resistant to failure. Some potential improvements to the software are indeed immense, but the receiver is definitely worth its price. A strong buy recommendation for the budget conscious. If the repair still easily and quickly proceeds, there 5 Star. Stay tuned.

Well, after 6 weeks I was told by the dealer after repeated inquiry, that a repair or replacement for unknown reasons it was not possible and I get the money back. I want to pull the device no rating star because the Vantage I still think for good. The dealer I would like a having given along the way, but that is not here. Conclusion: device disappeared, money back, what more could you want. Merry Christmas.
