Since I still have an iPad and laptop use predominantly private, the criteria were clear: I do not need high-end, affordable and with pre-installed operating system it should be if it then send the better. Especially the matte screen has then convinced me from Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH502.
The notebook looks well made and makes evident a high-quality impression. The housing is made entirely of matte plastic and is relatively insensitive to scratches and smudge. The design is not very spectacular. Windows 7 was installed correctly, everything went like "greased" from the first touch of a button. The device can now be customized, important programs such as virus scanners must be installed as usual, of course, themselves.
In the terminals, there are no big surprises. Negative to mention is simply the only support the 3 USB ports to 2.0 standard - which is no longer appropriate. If you like working with external storage media the 3.0 standard, for my purposes, however, expects no knock-out criterion. Otherwise, there is the following interfaces: VGA, HDMI, card reader, SD card slot, ExpressCard slot, Bluetooth 4.0, Ethernet LAN, microphone in, headphone out, audio out and an integrated microphone.
The reception quality of the wireless is excellent. My router is on the ground floor, even on the 3rd floor I still have the second-best reception. Here the Fujitsu my PS3 and my Samsung Galaxy S3 beats clearly!
When it comes to hardware, this notebook is equipped solid and should still be up-to-date in 2 years: A (somewhat loud) 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM and a dual-core Intel Pentium 2020M 2.4GHz are installed. In addition to the normal applications it can handle even the most demanding tasks such as video editing and multitasking afloat. Also due to the lack of specific graphics card are modern multiplayer games like Battlefield 3 with this equipment, of course not an issue.
The screen is big enough, with 15.6 inches. Colors, brightness and contrast can not quite keep up with a reference product - possibly through the matte screen? However, this makes for significantly improved outdoor and glare-free view on the display.
Conclusion: good and affordable everyday notebook, with small weaknesses at the display. For gamers, the Fujitsu LIFEBOOK AH502 is good not unique!
