I bought this camera so as not to have to carry always 2 different devices, and the advertising promised indeed Video results that would be sufficient for my needs. But do not they absolutely.
1.) No autofocus in video mode, if you like me go with glasses you can see on the small screen some sharp thing on the monitor considered is subsequently completely blurred, so manual focus works only a very limited and only in good light, sunning it's hit or miss. By zooming garnicht talk which can in video mode equal completely forgotten (manual mode, then readjust the focus, blurred ALWAYS).
2.) Canon is still living in the age of FAT32 - ie 4 GB is the maximum, no matter how big is the memory card. But these are only about 12 minutes of high-resolution video.
3.) overheating - I'm on vacation here where it's warm. That may the camera at all. After 8-10 minutes of video mode, the temperature warning light up.
4) The non-foldable display makes video recordings of the angles with a cam no problem is impossible, one can see simply nothing on the display.
5.) Only completely impossible video modes to choose from. The formats are unworthy that I never need in real life, that I take high-resolution images. But that is not smoothly play with my least 1.8 Ghz dual core middle-class notebook (separate graphics card). A Youtube mode would be a good idea.
In a nutshell - almost entirely unsuitable as a video device.
Actually, only 2.5 stars - but I will not even be so. It is helpful to read the reviews at Amazon.com, which are more sophisticated than the jubilation wesentllich reports here.
Additional 26.10.2012:
The following is quoted from Verrißkommentaren the computer screen:
<<<<
COMPUTER BILD has disguised himself as a producer and agencies mandated to write positive and negative customer reviews. The real manufacturer JVC and AVM were inaugurated. Focus on: the Alternate Shops, Amazon, Conrad, Cyberport, notebooksbilliger.de, Otto, Dixons, Saturn and technikdirekt.de. Because counterfeiting is daily business, none of the 100 launched ratings fell. This is the first time demonstrated how easy it is to manipulate reviews on the internet.
Up to one in three rating is fake
The false reviews (fakes) are a lucrative business: Many buyers believe the testimonials in online shops. Products with an average of four or five stars they put like in the cart, devices with less than three stars leave them left.
Behind the shop facades's a war of the stars. Around 20 to 30 percent of the reviews are fake, estimates industry experts Krischan Kuberzig from Hamburg. <<<<<
Anyone who looks at my reviews can easily see that I would have hardly get a cent from the manufacturer for that. But they are meaningful and honest. The paid "reviewers" and "commentators" not entblöden Namely, me exactly blame what they themselves are: Purchased contract-slave industry.
<10/02/2013: so, all the garbage once deleted ... that should do what their money the industrial slaves :-)
