So far so good. placed all the two repeaters connected via WPS and had a good reception immediately. Unfortunately, a few days later, the firmware update of the Fritz box is 6.23 and 6.24 as well as the updates of the repeater from 6:12 to 6:20 came. And from there the problems started. Every few hours or sometimes only after two days, the repeater lose the connection. Sometimes only a band, sometimes on both, which is completely different. There are two ways to to behebn the short term: either you put it off and back on or changing Arnold Böcklin any channel (2.4 or 5 GHz) in the access point. After that, everything is fine again - until the next Disconnect. In the log files are then usually two entries to find this: "time server is not responding" and "Authentication failed". When the connection is established, everything is excellent. No Packet Loss and fast transmission.
The AVM Support has sought and both the Fritz box as well as all three repeaters were exchanged. Unfortunately, without success. The only real improvement is to stay on the old firmware 6:12 - which has offered for problems with various IP-based TV. Current status is, I should wait for further firmware updates.
My conclusion: at least in the existing environment with me and with the current firmware, the repeater can be need only extremely limited. The connection problems ruin the otherwise good impression completely. Apart from the firmware, I also think the fact that the repeater with multiple sockets always two slots are occupied rather suboptimal. But that can come to terms, if the connection problem is solved.
Also AVM products are well-placed for sale prior to their market launch.
Update 4/27/2015:
About every 5-10 days to one depends on two repeaters. The status LEDs indicate no error, nevertheless he did not send. Simple and plug it resolves the issue. The newly emerged with the firmware 6:23 problem with terminating on-demand video is not solved, according to AVM you working on a solution. I am bothered both problems considerably, mainly because you never know when they occur. Therefore, again 2-star, with good will.
Update 3/29/2015:
With the latest firmware version V6.23 of the repeater is now (finally) the 5GHz band stable. A long forgotten Believed problem arises with the latest firmware, however again. At least on Samsung devices (Galaxy & Note and 2014er F8090 TV) keep YouTube and Amazon Prime movies suddenly. One can again press play and mostly they do, but it's still annoying. The problem there was with the 6.12er Firnware ever, but was then completely dissolved. A first test shows that it occurs on both frequency bands. It remains for me still a stale aftertaste because we are customer abused as a beta tester. Nevertheless, the new firmware makes the 5GHz band finally usable, thus from one star to three stars!
Update 3/28/2015:
Since yesterday I have the new version of firmware V6.23 repeater in use. So far, the 5GHz band is stable. I wait with a final judgment but something else, because once the problems have sometimes set only after some period of operation. We hope for the best!
Update 22:03:15:
Unfortunately, the solution was "maintaining frequency band" with really no solution. My devices have to again "freeze" of the 5GHz radio station simply connected to the 2.4GHz. So it was only apparent, but at least with the setting 2.4Ghz remained stable. The solution with the Laber version of the Fritz box did not work permanently with me and at least one other commenter. It is for mice milking ...
Update 20:03:15:
Thanks to some nice commentators I have now found two ways to improve the situation.
1st owner a Fritzbox 7490 can find a laboratory firmware, on the AVM side under laboratory, einpielen: "FRITZ OS 06.25-30097 - laboratory version!". This firmware Fritzbox seems to help at least some Foristen. Unfortunately, it also has serious disadvantages: problems with VoIP, spontaneous reboots, IPv6 partially without function, connection overview faulty. If the deficiencies are not eliminated, it will be the solution.
2. In the Repeater menu - Set "maintain frequency band"> -> WLAN -> Radio Settings -> Connection Options. In order for the repeater to run permanently stable with the Fritz box firmware 6:24 and 6:22 Repeater firmware.
New Conclusion: Apparently AVM is on the right track as soon as the firmware is officially available and fully functioning, I will forgive many more stars.
