I've been using the device for quite some time in my 70m² apartment, so cant comment on the radio over several floors or across larger areas. The range of the WLAN and DECT in combination with the AVM MT-F handset is quite adequate and the function is impeccable. There were here and there problems with the DECT ECO mode, I had to turn off. It occurred through 2 walls clicks and drop outs during conversation. Since the new firmware version on 17.9.2010 issued for the box and the handset all the problems are gone. The ECO-mode in which the radio transmission disabled for handset in standby (for the purpose of radiation limitation), now works properly. The entire user interface has been changed and improved a lot. A great new frontend to the NAS service has been added, including drag and drop through the web browser. The box should have been sold with this software at that time. Then there would be here probably some bad reviews less. I have all the equipment for telephone, fax and Internet access replaced by this box. At every corner you can see that people have made with AVM worrying to save energy. There are power saving modes for LAN, WLAN and DECT and a comprehensive energy monitor which permanently percentage indicating the energy consumption of all sectors of the box. My Android phone can I use with the FritzApp as handset. Also works with an iPhone. In general, the functionality is unbeaten. I've had some routers. Whether Netgear or D-Link, something I've yet found anywhere. It is also amazing how strong AVM over time continues the firmware of boxes improved, while other manufacturers prefer to sell new boxes again. The best you can see the box at the 7270er. This is already for about 3 years in the market and has also received donated almost the same new firmware on 17.9.2010. Overall I can say that the box in its current state, for me anyway, worth every penny.
