* Review of the device follows *
Our daughter is 9 months old.
For various reasons, I now insist on a baby monitor.
After a little research it was clear that we want this device.
Irritated me then the often criticized "problem" with the talk button!
Since I am not unerrschrocken, I just phoned Philips.
A very nice lady explained to me what it's going exactly ...
The customer expects - is completed by the use of the mode - like the radio, for example,
and automatically switches back to monitor mode.
That's when the devices that have been criticized, not so.
There must reactivate with a repeated push the monitor mode.
Clearly, if that happens accidentally, it does not know about and therefore permanently from
the connection "dropped out" remains!
That was according to Philips until the beginning of that.
The "problem" is solved but with a software overhaul now.
The new devices you can even recognize.
At the unit number with MP1A and MP1C to recognize the old equipment.
The improved devices bear the number MP14 and have probably somewhere on the packaging
a point so that the dealer can distinguish the devices quicker.
Whether AMAZON now sells only the new equipment, it was unknown because they list the
with dealers already sell the new units, was not present.
So either, one does not mind, deal respectfully a little with the parent unit
and to use the Talk button to push them again ...
... Or you can go to the store and looks after the number on the package!
I have it today, 08/05/2014, nevertheless ordered through Amazon-PRIME "Evening Express", according
Customer-chat, there is no opportunity to influence the delivery of an old or new device.
Send the old device, they get it immediately ...
... And I will buy it in the store ... who knows how many times I have to otherwise return the equipment! "
Addendum 09.05.2014:
Yesterday we actually get evening a device with revised software - with the identifier MP01.
The mentioned Philips point is a rectangle and green - with us, and only sticks next to the serial number on the box ...
Of course it's great for us, even though this feature does not really matter to us.
We have now examined the baby monitor through its paces.
All functions are working properly; Whether they are or not needed, that is each customer's own tastes. (Detail please read in other reviews, write in detail!)
For us personally, it is eg. Great that the device responds very fast. Although our daughter is sleeping for months by, but in the morning she turns now always on his stomach and crawls around as long as backward or in circles in bed until she slips between the legs with just matching bars. Then the whining is now huge.
We never knew, is what is happening or is it already awake for a while.
Now the problem is finally solved.
What is also very important to me if the little one in my in-laws who live 3 floors above us in a duplex apartment, sleeping that grandparents remember even at loud TV, when my daughter announces itself in the room with a fairly thick door. (It was always said that they slept wonderfully - last week we were a little longer up, and I heard the only one daughter, and that was a shock to me!)
But for us it is convenient in terms of the TV. While we look normal remote, but often did not know whether it is our little, the kids on the 2nd floor or the noise on TV, we hear. We always set off the sound and listened; very annoying.
For the price of 114 instead of 159 for us a great "bargain!
At the Talk button on the device, which are still equipped with old software, I do not really think of only that one mE already has quite an effort, such a - with a comparatively large pressure operable button - "accidentally" push !! !
