I wanted to use the combination of both as TV, especially with Blu-ray players and other HDMI / CEC-sources (for testing) as well as a monitor for the PC. For the former, he is really good, the latter not: He has next to "Dynamic" 3 stable background lighting species so do not go with the image content, which for me is the best, "Of course" - already times very well. In the Picture Settings Contrast: 51 Brightness: 32 Sharpness: 4, Energy Saving: Off and background "medium" or "maximum" - means the evening, with better black level, max. in bright conditions. Then the picture is very good (via HDMI), not overdriven (clipping), shows all white and black values properly graded and format mode "full screen" and a pixel-accurate image uncircumcised - excellent. Two little problems: the black level is not bad, but definitely not as good as with my LG M2380D (with an IPS panel), who was standing next to it (both a without signal) and so far my clear reference in the TV / monitor combo area , And secondly, the viewing angle from above is bad, then color and brightness significantly change (from the bottom and the sides, it is better). Still, overall really well done, Philips! And as can be - unusual for Philips - Always adjust all useful image formats, even via HDMI with 16: 9 aspect, ie 4: 3, 16: 9, Auto, Full Screen, 14: 9 and Zoom. Warning, the overscan is in "full screen" mode, also "16: 9" all others, curtail or "Auto" and then show with Mini pixels slight moiré (test patterns). The monitor even has an excellent scaler (useful when less than full HD offers him). And also still an excellent deinterlacer - he sets fields to frames together, important when it receives non-P signals, ie 576i or 1080i, as well as by the TV tuner. And when not enough that he still has a manual "car" - and "Video Mode", where "car" with both video and films (eg BD / DVD) works perfectly. Here is indeed usually saved because good De / Is really cost money. But for playback from DVD / BD player takes the player this difficult task (as well as the scaling with DVDs). However, the TV picture is, according to the image settings, quite good, even slightly better than that of the LG - gee! But now to the - decisive for me - minus points, why I had to unfortunately give it back: First, the sound is really pathetic, even be used as a second TV barely even after optimization by the built-in EQ and "Dynamic Bass". Second: For testing with DVD / Blu-ray players and HDMI / CEC sources it is not suitable, because he has, in contrast to the description from Amazon (behind "HDMI" as an input), no CEC, so no "Easy Link", neither is anything mentioned set menu in this manual. And third: On PC (via HDMI), the picture blurred, not pixel accuracy (only "16: 9" / "4: 3" adjustable, no "1: 1" mode) and even außenrum with a black frame, which at Full-HD not (he also gets loud "Information") is expected to occur not at all, at least in a true 1: 1 mode; presumably he scaled internally to somehow, which of course would be a complete nonsense. The LG produced but on the same line a perfect PC image. In addition, now is the focus on Philips no longer adjustable (knob is completely absent) - great. Other resolutions do not help, logically. And via VGA there (with my PC) no full HD resolution - it ends with "1600: 1200". As a monitor, you can unfortunately forget him. Too bad, otherwise I would keep him happy (with the sound I can live for testing, with a lack of CEC but not).
