First of all, the positives: The RDR-AT 105 was spielendleicht connected, set up and running without a blemish. The picture and sound quality of analog and digital Kabelsigals is impeccable, the Guide + EPG works first class and also the playback of DVDs (including DVD-R / DVD + R) runs smoothly and quietly. The device has become faster boot-up and is relatively quick to deploy. An improvement in the direct recording: Repeatedly press the record button can in 30-minute intervals a recording time can be preselected. This was the RDR-HX 727 not yet possible and forgot to stop, the unit took on a full 8 hours. Another positive I judge the remote control that is clear and easy to use in my opinion.
However, there are reasons why I can not give 4 or 5 stars for the device. Some functions / operating steps were "verschlimmbessert" from Sony:
Previously: dubbing from HDD to DVD was 727 possible even on the title menu in two steps during RDR-HX.
Now: When RDR-AT 105 steps you have to select tens on the system menu to a title from the HDD to DVD dubbing.
Previously: When recording to the HDD has been set a chapter marker every 6 minutes during RDR-HX 727. Very comfortable if you move through a longer film to get to a certain point.
Now: When RDR-AT 105, there is only one chapter in the automatic hard disk recording, which automatically "changes in the picture and sound" recognize and therefore arbitrarily set chapter marks (!). Very immature! In other words: While a movie countless chapter marks are set, the 15 seconds times 20 times more minutes apart. Sometimes nothing is automatically detected from the middle of the movie, so that you end up at the next click next recorded movie. Very annoying!
Previously: The HDD title menu was clearly structured and clear. Everything was displayed by clicking on the title, what you can do with it (playing, recording to DVD, edit, rename ...) Simply foolproof!
Now: A confusing title menu, in which the "rough journal" of MS / DOS was rediscovered. In addition, the re-introduction of lower and lower and lower Unterunter- submenus.
All in all, a good, solid machine, which works fine, but unfortunately is not very easy to use.
