Although Patton, the new singer, has not yet found his voice (his way?), Faith No More was found with him one of the best rock vocalists ever. And the group provides a metal album-pop-rock-alternative-fusion absolutely unclassifiable, which alternates the crudest violence ("Surprise! You're Dead") with the jazzy ballads ("The Edge of the World"), through the sublime and hallucinating "Zombie Eaters" and "The Real Thing", dramatic epics to chills. This alchemy later found its highest form in Angel Dust and the album. However, it is born out of The Real Thing, and made Faith No More, from this moment, a wildly creative and rather awesome group.
