In itself makes the device a good impression and connection and configuration are made simple, the speed of wireless is quite useful and the design is beautiful enough to make it on the desk.
Now times a little comparison of good and bad qualities of the instrument:
+ Design
+ Speed
+ The Webinterace is very powerful and allows all sorts of restrictions and settings.
+ Wi-Fi coverage and good data throughput very good (but just stop compared to my old a / b / g wireless router)
+ Favorable price
- Unit is very warm at the bottom and a base as on the product image is clearly not included.
- LEDs are very bright and flashing disturbing.
- Internet operation lamp light ended until the last restart of the device with me no longer at even though the Internet is still active.
- The web interface is very slow
- The cable to the splitter is not a normal RJ45 to RJ45 but an RJ11 to RJ45 (length 2 meters), therefore a connection with a private network cable of any length is not possible, I had to order crimp the cable to the splitter a longer cable not the room is located.
- No manual but only a CD, they have at least the IP (192.168.0.1) and the default credentials can write shell or the like on the CD, all I need yes to the configuration.
My biggest gripe is that the building takes to connect to the Internet for a long time, felt 3x times as long as my old telecom router and the router in the Web interface makes very misleading information about the connection status.
But all in all I am satisfied with the device, as the negative points to be relatively small in view of the price and all are in the range of "bearable".
Therefore, I speak a "buy recommendation with restrictions" from.
// After I tested the part for another week, I unfortunately had to find that the wireless connection to the Acer Revo my mother does not work well much.
Ongoing disconnections and trailer which could only be solved by restarting the router.
Meanwhile, I have a DrayTek 2170n and am more than satisfied, because everything fits only is the price almost 3 times as high.
If I did not need the Wi-Fi connection, I would have stayed at the Netgear for budget reasons.
But the charge has been 100% worth it.
Therefore, I am afraid to take back my "restricted buy recommendation", at least for people who are planning to go mainly via WLAN to the network.
